Snowmobile & Gear Rentals for Beginner Riders

Snowmobiling in West Yellowstone is an excellent way to enjoy our beautiful winter days, and just because you’re a beginner or if it’s been awhile since you’ve ridden, there’s no reason to stress. 

At Highmark Rentals, we cater to our inexperienced riders and will get you set up with everything you need plus everything you need to know for a great time on the trails and memories you’ll always treasure.

First, we’ll make sure we put you and your loved ones on the correct snowmobile. We’ll also make sure the clothing you rent from us fits you very well and will keep you warm and comfortable.

Next, on the day of your rental, we'll show you how to operate the snowmobile and get you familiar with it. By the time you’re ready to hit the trails, everyone in your group will feel confident and excited to get out there and explore.

There’s no need for a snowmobile guide on West Yellowstone’s well-marked trail system, and we’ll provide you with a map and show you how to get to the summit on Two-Top – a favorite view point where you’ll be able to see the Grand Tetons in the distance.  We’ll also show you trails that take you to Mesa Falls in Idaho, which is an amazing place to visit. After we highlight the map for you, you’ll have no problem finding either place. (But if you’d like to hire a guide anyway, just let us know and we’ll share our recommendation for a great local guide we know and work with.)

• Our staff is very knowledgeable and up to date on the latest trail conditions as well those special spots to get off the trails.

• Most riders use less than 6 gallons of fuel per day. Other rental shops add an additional fee on their rental to cover the cost of fuel. Sometimes as much as $39.00 per day which is more than it costs to fill an empty tank. We choose to let you fuel the sled up when you bring it back. This way you only pay for the fuel you use. Plus there are several gas stations within 4 blocks or less of our location, making a quick fill up easy and effortless.

• Our winter rental clothing is the warmest you’ll find in town and usually less than a year old. And we carry HEATED HELMETS for your ultimate comfort while you ride.

• We’ve streamlined our check out/check in process, and it usually takes less than 5 minutes. This allows you more time to enjoy your rental. We also strive to make the rental experience a pleasurable one, with no stress.

• We’re also the closest rental shop to the vast West Yellowstone/Island Park trail system – just 150 feet from the trailhead, so you can hit the trails faster!
